Spring Mustachio
PvP
This build opts to maximize Charles’ above-average Speed stat to do well in PvP. Charles is a reliable dispeller for the common buffers like Diene or Desert Jewel Basar. He is also a great choice for going second, as he can destroy any buffs that the enemy has managed to put up and do a large amount of damage due to the extra buffs. He is also an excellent pinch hitter when the enemy count drops, as the damage on his S3 will skyrocket. Building him with Elbris Ritual Sword helps him to get more counterattack procs against AoE cleave teams that may outspeed him.

Team

Charles has strong synergy with assist-based heroes, given his chance of an extra attack on his S1. Schuri, Taranor Guard, and Rangers equipped with the Infinity Basket Artifact will all benefit him.
Charles is also good when paired with heroes who possess buffs that are different from those that he possesses. For this reason, Rin is a good partner, since she is likely to provide at least one buff that he does not already have. Other possible matches include his queen, Diene, for her multitude of buffs, or Angelica for her strong supportive options.
A well-rounded team might be: Diene, Schuri, Righteous Thief Roozid. Diene and Roozid both buff, while Schuri and Roozid both CR-push.
Perfect Posture
PvE
This version of Charles sacrifices some speed for frightening single-target damage against bosses. You can opt to use either Elbris Ritual Sword for AoE-heavy bosses, or Hilag Lance for single-target bosses. Either one will give him extra damage output.
Charles is a reliable buff stripper and DPS who is unlikely to die to even the hardest-hitting bosses because of his personal DEF buff. It is worth investing into as much Crit Damage, Crit Chance, and Attack as possible since he will only get stronger the fewer enemies remain.

Team

Charles has fair uptime on his teamwide Attack buff, though his uptime on buffs will suffer with this build because of his somewhat low SPD. He is therefore best partnered with another Attack buffer who might have longer periods of downtime on their own Attack buff. Yuna (with Infinity Basket), Aramintha, and Rose all come to mind.

Analysis
Overview
The most refined gentleman this side of Orbis has arrived. This loyal Knight punches far above his weight class, pulling first-rate damage as a DPS and a dispeller, while still remaining fast for a Knight. He can be a terrifying anti-cleave option in PvP or a potent DPS for PvE, combining above-average bulk with great damage that only gets stronger as his number of enemies decreases.
Strengths
Dispel on Follow-Up
Charles specializes in simultaneously dispelling buffs from enemies and laying on the hurt. He has great synergy with the Elbris Ritual Sword Artifact, which will more often than not provoke a counterattack into a Smash! (S2), dispelling the attacker's buffs and damaging them badly in the process.
Cripples Buffed Targets
Charles is an excellent candidate for Guild Wars. Not only does he do bonus damage against three or fewer targets, he also counters the very common Ice buffer, Diene. His Slash (S1) reduces the Attack of buffed targets, countering her AOE Atk buff, and it can combo into Smash! (S2) to dispel the rest of her buffs as well.
Self-Buffing
Charles has access to a nice team-wide ATK buff, and additionally gives himself Defense Up, making him a much beefier target. He is unlikely to die to non-focused damage.
Weaknesses
Doesn't Fill the Tank Role
Charles is not a tank. Sure, he can use Aurius, but that doesn’t mean that he should. He has middling to lower HP/DEF for a Knight, so don’t expect him to sit in front and take all the damage.
Best Against Buffed Foes
Charles is most disruptive to foes relying on buffs. Some bosses don’t buff at all and simply try to crush you with superior damage or health, so he is less useful in those fights that lack opportunities to dispel.
S1 -> S2 Is Unreliable
Despite it being a strong combination, the chance of Charles’ S1 proccing his S2 is 50% at best. This means that, if you really want the dispel, you will have to manually use his S2, resulting in much less damage.
