Stat Increase Skills
Overview
These are amongst the most straightforward of all skills, giving a simple +3 (or +5 for HP) bonus in the chosen stat. These skills are commonly seen as inferior to Fury, which gives a boost to four stats, and Blow skills, which grant a much larger, albeit conditional bonus. However unlike the aforementioned skills, the Stat Increase skills have no drawback or condition. Attack+3 and Speed+3 are the most commonly sought after. They are favored on offensive units, particularly Speed+3 which can swing a speed battle in your favor. Defense+3 and Resistance+3 are less useful but have their own niches.
Synergy
As these skills provide flat stat boosts with no special effects, they mostly synergise with a unit’s stat spread rather than other skills. Attack+3 and Speed+3 can help units break some crucial damage thresholds. For units with high defense or resistance, the stat bonus can allow a unit to survive a crucial hit that they otherwise couldn’t.
Weaknesses
There is no real way to directly counter these skills as they are designed to be reliable. The biggest weakness to this skill is its opportunity cost compared to much larger stat boosters such as Life and Death and Fury. If you’re able to handle the various negatives of the above skills, they are much more impactful than the Stat Increase skills.
