In-game news

Tonic for Trace Detection

This new Potion is described as follows:

Increases your perception of Trace magic, revealing more Traces as you explore.

In other words, this potion works like a Dark Detector you place on yourself. For 30 minutes, more Traces will show up around you, revealed by the potion. These Traces will not be visible to other players.

Each potion takes 7 hours to brew (just under 6 hours with Master Notes, or 5:22 with Gold Cauldron and Master Notes).

The Tonic for Trace Detection is also available for purchase in Diagon Alley:

  • 60 gold for one

  • 220 gold for four (just over 8% off)

New Ingredients

With the new potion also comes four new ingredients:

How to get each ingredient
Ingredient Gold Cost Confirmed Locations
Baneberry 3 Map
Bulbadox Juice 3 Map, Greenhouses
Angel's Trumpet 3 Map
Erumpent Horn 30 Map, Portkeys

Baneberry and Angel’s Trumpet have both already been reported as appearing on the Map. The official release also noted that “Erumpent Horn will more often be found in Portkeys.”

This may suggest that Erumpent Horn will be like Unicorn Hair, Powdered Dragon Claw, and Hermit Crab Shell in rarity.

Update, October 7, 2019: Spawn rates for Erumpent Horn have been increased. Players are now reporting them appearing much more frequently on the map.

Keep an eye for the new ingredients and report back in the Community Forums if and where you find any!
