IV Sets

Key stats worth increasing through nature if possible.
Complementary stats that matter, but not to the point of picking them over key stats for nature increase.
Relatively worthless stat that can safely be decreased through nature.

Passive B: Special Fighter / Slick Fighter

Passive C:  Pulse Smoke

Sacred Seal: Spd/Res Solo

  • This is the meta set for most archer tanks in Aether Raids, and is a set that suits Felix well. Due to his good statline, Felix makes for an exceptionally strong unit when built as an offensive tank and can work well in the role.
  • Close Foil is easier to inherit since he can take it at the same time as Spendthrift Bow from Midori. It's also generally more useful, though leaves him vulnerable to melee dragons such as Myrrh.
  • Special Fighter and Pulse Smoke both work to ensure that Felix is protected from enemy specials, while Spendthrift Bow decreases their Attack enough to have a difficult time piercing his bulk. At the same time, Special Fighter grants Felix permanent uptime on Noontime, which grants him sustain to tank through multiple attacks per turn.
  • Spd/Res Solo in Felix' seal slot helps patch up his lower Resistance - a liability when fighting mages such as Thrasir - and grants him additional Speed so that he can avoid doubles from faster units.
  • If using Slick Fighter instead of Special Fighter - a good option to remove Felix's penalties during combat - you will need to use Brave Lucina as Felix's support in order to proc Noontime reliably.

Passive A: Fury / Swift Sparrow

Passive B: Daring Fighter / Special Fighter

Passive C:  Armor March

Sacred Seal: Brazen Atk/Spd / Swift Sparrow

  • Felix's biggest strength is his well-rounded statline. By improving it further and adding Candlewax Bow and Fury, Felix gains a total of +7 to each stat, with the small drawback of taking damage after each combat.
  • By incorporating Daring Fighter and Brazen Atk/Spd, Felix turns this drawback into a net benefit, by stacking stats even further and utilizing the armor-exclusive skill to grant him Desperation and immunity to followup denial, essentially half of the Null-Followup skill.
  • While it seems like an odd and expensive choice, the followup-denial meta is still all the rage, with most slow units running skills that would otherwise prevent Felix's follow-ups. Daring Fighter lets Felix not have to worry about all of that, while still getting Desperation once his HP is below 80%.
  • Special Fighter will also be a wonderful skill for Felix, but take care to note that Special Fighter has an HP threshold and will not work once below a certain point. To run Special Fighter more efficiently, a skill like Swift Sparrow would be better in Felix's A-slot and Coral Bow would be a better weapon choice. With a build of Coral Bow/Swift Sparrow/Special Fighter, Felix removes the positioning requirement of his default Reindeer Bow while getting a better stat effect and giving him Special Acceleration to do even more damage.

Strengths

Well-Rounded Unit

  • With great Attack and Speed, and decent Defense and Resistance, Felix is very flexible and can be built in a myriad of different ways.
  • He has no obvious weak points statistically, and if invested into, he can make a very formidable foe.

Archer

  • Being an archer gives Felix extended reach, which helps to make up for his status as an armored unit.
  • At the time of his release, he is the ranged character with the highest stat total in the game.

Weaknesses

Armored

  • Being an Armored unit definitely has its perks, but it also makes Felix more difficult to use effectively due to his 1-tile movement.
  • This means that you either have to sacrifice a skill slot to run Armor March or slow down your playstyle to allow Felix to catch up.

Blue

  • Tragically, Felix is a blue unit, which can create a lot of overlap in color typing for fans who built units like Brave Dimitri, Legendary Azura, or Jorge.
  • Interestingly enough, F2P players still don't have a red bow option, so it's a little confusing that Felix is Blue instead of Red, since we just got Jorge recently, and since Halloween Niles already covers a 'speedy seasonal blue armored archer' niche...
