Overview

  • This exhibition match features an encounter against Eric, who has three HP bars. Eric is supported by his wife, Gunnhild, who will use field effects every turn if she is able to.
  • Charming Eric will draw Gunnhild's wrath: Gunnhild will inflict 10 stacks of Curse Damage Up (total +50% curse damage for 5 turns) on the entire frontline at the end of the turn if Eric is inflicted with Charm. The debuffs are removable.
  • Gunnhild provides Eric with Defensive Support each turn: At the start of every turn, if Gunnhild isn't otherwise distracted, she will provide Eric with a powerful 90% DEF buff (1st HP bar), a 1-turn Evade (2nd HP bar), or a 1-turn 100% Damage Resist buff (3rd HP bar), while also inflicting a single frontline Servant with a myriad of debuffs and Curse (500 damage per turn, stackable).
  • Gunnhild is easily distracted by Eric's feats: Gunnhild will fail to use her turn-start field effect if the following conditions are met:
    • 1) Eric Defeats a Servant
    • 2) Eric Uses their NP
    • 3) Eric Deals a Critical Hit
  • After one of the above listed conditions occur, there is a window of opportunity in which Eric lies unprotected--unleashing your Noble Phantasms and piling on the damage during these opportunities are the best way to defeat Eric.
  • On Second Break, Eric gains a Normal Attack Effect: Although he does not have an effect on first break, during the second break he will apply an effect that gives him a small 5-turn ATK buff whenever normal attacking, at the cost of losing some of his own HP (1,000 HP, which is almost negligible) with each attack. With this active, he will quickly become more dangerous as the battle goes on.

Team Recommendations

  • Any ST DPS of choice is effective; NP Charge is helpful: Provided Eric is alone on the battlefield and he has Berserker classing, most any ST DPS will be effective for dealing with Eric. Bringing a DPS option that has an NP charge skill can help make sure they have their Noble Phantasm ready whenever a window of opportunity presents itself. Avoid using their Noble Phantasm if Eric has one of Gunnhild's defensive buffs active.
  • Trait Damage Bonus ST DPS can also be helpful. Anti-Male, or Anti-Chaotic Servants are options. Be wary that Charming Eric can cause the party to take increased Curse damage, although the debuffs can be cleared. The value of the debuff is relatively low, but can build up over turns if Eric isn't dealt with quickly or the debuffs are allowed to stack, especially since Gunnhild will curse a Servant every turn that she isn't distracted.
  • Equip the Event Damage CE on DPS - The Jewel Bride CE will be invaluable on the DPS, providing up to +200% damage if max limit broken, while also providing Guts as a one-time save if attacked by Eric.
  • Taunt Support is highly beneficial in this encounter to protect the chosen DPS, given Eric will hit hard against most targets (except Foreigner class). Taunt Support is also useful in that if Eric defeats the taunt Servant, Gunnhild will be distracted during the next turn, providing the DPS with a valuable chance to strike. For this reason, bringing a weaker Taunt Support Servant that will die quickly to Eric's attacks can be a better choice. It may be better to avoid using Guts on the Taunt Servant if they have the skill for this reason as well.
  • Damage and NP Gauge Support is helpful as usual. Stacking buffs on the DPS will help make sure the fight ends as quickly as possible, which is particularly important during his third (and highest HP) break bar, where Eric can continually gain ATK buffs with every normal attack.
  • Party Evade/Invincibility Support will be helpful against Eric's AoE NP if unable to fell him quickly enough before he uses his NP.
  • Mystic Code: Chaldea Combat Uniform comes in handy with its Order Change skill, which can help bring in backline NP Support to help top off the NP Gauge for the DPS, or bring in a Taunter to protect the DPS and provide a window of attack opportunity during the next turn.
