For someone who didn’t have a big role in the Dragon Ball Z: Super Android #13 Movie, SP Trunks PUR is a devastating Fighter in Dragon Ball Legends.

He’s very similar to SP Vegeta BLU in the sense that he can Transform into a Super Saiyan, is exceptionally Strike heavy, and has a nuclear missile of a Special Move capable of legitimately one-hit KO’ing many Fighters.

While he would primarily work in a Vegeta Family Team, his “Preparations for the Future” Unique Ability also gives a 35% Damage Buff to any Hybrid Saiyan. Those are far from the only Team compositions for this Fighter, as his Sagas From the Movies Tag and Super Saiyan Support Abilities make him one of the most versatile Fighters Tag-wise. 

All in all, SP Trunks PUR is a top tier Fighter who truly unleashes his potential when fielded alongside his Family. 


Flash Blade

Supplemented by his Extra Move, his Special Move is more or less a mini-Rising Rush damage wise. His Extra Move automatically gives him 20% Special Move Damage by default, but gets increasingly more powerful the more cards are destroyed in his hand when used.

His “I’ll protect them” Unique Ability only lasts 10 timer counts, but if a Special Move is utilized in that time, SP SSJ Trunks PUR can kill many Fighters instantly, as in those moments, his Damage is something to behold. 

Preparations for the Future

SP Teen Trunks PUR is enough of a problem as it is, but this Unique Ability also makes his Teammates hit hard as well. A whopping 35% Damage Buff to Hybrid Saiyans or Vegeta Family Fighters - as well as Super Saiyan Fighters post-transformation - is a serious Offensive Boost, establishing Trunks as one of the best Offensive Supporters. 

Not Over Till it's Over

Trunks' toolkit affords him multiple ways to extend his already deadly Combos. After his Transformation, his Main Ability not only Heals his HP and replenishes his Ki - it Draws an entire new hand of Arts Cards. To top it all off, this Ability becomes available a mere 5 Timer Counts after Transforming.

With this in tow, Trunks can accelerate card usage to get his Team a Rising Rush faster, bring his Health out of the danger zone, or even set a Teammate up with a full hand and Ki to use it. 


One dimensional Offensively

SP Trunks PUR does a little bit of everything, except Blast Damage. His toolkit does nothing for his Blast Attack stat, and his Mixed Arts Cards held don’t do much for him either. Trunks' Ability to replace or destroys his Cards ameliorates this somewhat, but it does result in lackluster Damage output when these options to subvert this deficiency aren't available. 

Offers Little Beyond Combat

Trunks Fighters are known to have mediocre Z-Abilities and unfortunately, SP Teen Trunks PUR is no exception to this trend. The Future Avenger only offers his Tag Teams a Buff to Blast Defense, which is by no means useless, but it ultimately lowers his Team's Damage output. Devoting a Team Slot to a Fighter who only Buffs a single Defensive Stat is not ideal - this aspect of Trunks holds him back. 

Team Synergy

Vegeta Family

SP Teen Trunks PUR is one of the Vegeta Family Tag's best Offensive Supporters. His massive Buff to Inflicted Damage turns the Tag's most deadly combat units, SP Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Vegeta GRN and SP Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta RED, into engines of destruction. His paternal movie co-star, SP Vegeta BLU makes for an ideal partner for Trunks as well - the two were designed to be used together. 

Trunks might do little to counteract the Tag's Defensive weaknesses, but his Offensive Support and versatile toolkit will make him a cornerstone of this Tag for a very long time. 

Hybrid Saiyan

SP Teen Trunks PUR enables this Tag to do insane amounts of Damage with his "Preparations for the Future" Unique Ability.

SP SSJ Youth Gohan YEL is this Trunks' comrade in arms. Gohan contributes to the Team's fortitude before Transforming, and after doing so, Trunks' Offensive Buffs turn Goku's Successor into one of the most Damaging Fighters in the game. 

SP SSJ Teen Gohan BLU is another excellent partner for SP Teen Trunks PUR - even though his inclusion necessitates a slight hit to his Bulk and Damage due to the lack of Son Family Allies. These three Fighters form a powerful and resilient Strike-oriented Hybrid Saiyan Core that can stand up to some of the best Teams in the Meta. 

Super Saiyan

SP SSJ Bardock BLU seems to always get new toys to play with. SP Trunks PUR after Transforming is devastating enough as it is, but SP SSJ Bardock BLU enabling him to land Critical Hits can make him insanely oppressive. This Team, however, does have problems with fragility and synergy, making it more of a niche pick for a Tag Team for SP Teen Trunks PUR. 

Sagas From the Movies

Sagas From the Movies is a strange choice for SP Teen Trunks PUR, as his Offensive Support does not extend to this Tag, but nevertheless this Tag can include Trunks easily.

SP Hero Tapion RED desires Trunks Fighters to unlock his full Defensive potential, and can buff Trunks' Damage considerably. Even though Trunks himself cannot reciprocate Tapion's Buff, the two of them can work well together. One-sided relationships aren't always bad. 

Alternatively, entire Sagas From the Movies cores can be made out of Vegeta Family and Hybrid Saiyan Fighters, which opens up avenues for this Team considerably. An interesting option is EX Kid Trunks GRN, whose constant background radiation of Buffs significantly enhances SP Teen Trunks PUR's effectiveness in combat. The aforementioned SP Vegeta BLU and SP Super Saiyan Youth Gohan YEL can also fit on this squad and all can benefit from Sagas From the Movies Z-Abilities. 

This Team can be constructed in many ways, but there is one constant among every variant - SP Teen Trunks PUR's power as a combatant and Supporter.
