Early game Tanking, Ki restoration, switch locking, and Damage Reduction, Gohan is ready to show the power of Super Saiyan 2.
With some great animations and Abilities, as well as interesting Team options, this Fighter can apply constant pressure on a variety of Teams.
No Need to Dodge
SP SS Youth Gohan YEL can reduce Damage during Cover Change twice before he Transforms, which then subsequently Heals him.
Not only does this Gohan variant cause switch locking when he Transforms, he also can Combo anything out of his Extra Arts Card, which enables him to quickly flip the momentum in his favor when getting pressured.
Too Many Kids
Son Family and Hybrids both are Blast Arts centric. SP Super Saiyan Gohan YEL’s incongruous Buffs, Z Ability, and Strike Arts focused kit create an odd disconnect when placed on these Teams.

This Fighter is a much needed Yellow Strike powerhouse for the Sagas tag. He also pairs up well with EX LSSJ Broly YEL, creating some phenomenal buffs between the two of them.
While creating some new and unique synergy with other Hybrids units, the Core can get pretty narrowed when considering Blast and Strike Arts. He pairs almost perfectly with SP Teen Trunks PUR, which opens up a unique Strike focused path for the otherwise Blast Arts heavy Hybrids team.
Losing a Son Family boosting Z Ability may be worth the benefit of adding a new strong Yellow Fighter for Son Family.
Yet another Equip with dual-Offenses makes his Damage go through the roof, but No Way... makes him very durable.

Why this Tier?
He’s extremely durable, has one of the best Extra Moves in the game, locks the Enemy in with his first Main Ability, anddraws a Special Move Arts Card with enough Ki to use it from his second Main Ability.
He has many Team options when limit broken to 5 stars.
SP SSJ Gohan Youth YEL is a phenomenal Fighter, and his Team continues to get better too. He synergizes excellently with either SP Boujack PURor SP Cooler PUR. SP Cooler PUR is especially enticing, as he gives (through his toolkit) SP SSJ Gohan Youth YEL those annoying Extra Moves he loves to utilize.
Alternatively, SP SSJ Gohan Youth YEL himself is more or less a necessity to take out other SP Boujack PUR’s and SP Cooler PUR’s. His Main Ability lock along with his second Main Ability has the potential to take out some Fighters in a single Combo if the stars align correctly for him.
