Overview
EX Youth Gohan RED has a pretty nifty toolkit. Through his good Blast Attack stat and Support like qualities, he’s still a decent option in a Son Family Team if the Player is missing a few core Fighters. His reliance on Goku variants make this his most optimal Team.
If nothing else, his Z-Ability works well with the Team considering how Blast heavy they’ve become.
Strengths
In His Father’s Footsteps
This Fighter provides great Team Support, but his potential is fully realized when a Goku variant is also on the Team.
This addition means his Main Ability draws a Special Arts Card in addition to restoring 40 Ki instantly and curing all Abnormal Conditions.
It also means his Extra Move Boosts Team Damage by 20% instead of 10%. To top it all off, EX Youth Gohan RED’s Z-Ability Boosts Son Family Blast Attack by up to 23%.
Weaknesses
Power creep
While his Blast Attack is still reasonably high and can be Boosted quite high with excellent Equip choices, it’s the only stat he has left that holds up as he’s an older Fighter. Only a Balance Change will make him usable in PVP so long as SP SSJ2 Gohan RED exists.

Son Family
Son Family has taken a heavy turn towards Ranged Fighters, so his Z-Ability is very much appreciated here.

EX Youth Gohan RED boasts one of the highest Blast Attack stats in the entire game, so this is the obvious choice here.
Not only does it give Blast Attack, but Strike Defense in a Meta where Blue Fighters tend to be very Strike oriented, making him more resilient. Awakened !!! can be used instead if he’s used in a Hybrid Saiyan Team.
