Overview

As a callback to Dragon Ball: Wrath of the Dragon, and much like her partner in...justice, SP Great Saiyaman 1 PUR, SP Saiyaman 2 RED does a few things really well.

Unfortunately, this has the potential to limit her viability and power creep her faster down the line.

One thing’s for certain, she puts an interesting twist on the typical off-color dynamic for Color-Counter Teams.

The most intriguing thing about her kit is her astounding Damage boost against Lineage of Evil Fighters, which have become a fixture in the meta thanks in no small part to SP Full Power Frieza YEL, who SP Great Saiyaman 2 can dispatch effortlessly with this Ability and Color Advantage working in tandem. 

Female Warriors may be relatively unsupported, but this ability allows SP Great Saiyaman 2 to carve out a niche as an anti-meta staple. Her Toolkit and Color allow her to deal with the plethora of Yellow Fighters that define the PvP landscape. 

Strengths

Ultimate Off-Color

Building Color-Counter Teams can be difficult sometimes because the off-color Fighter in charge of countering the main Team’s color weakness is often left without a lot of Support from the bench.

For SP Saiyaman 2 RED, being the off-color is an advantage because she gets a 15% Damage Buff for every Purple Teammate and even Boosts their Strike Attack with her Z-Ability.

High Damage Output

SP Saiyaman 2 RED’s max Strike Damage Buff potential is 80% (120% against Lineage of Evil Fighters), and it’s incredibly easy to reach this peak since her Main Ability Buffs her Damage for 20 timer counts and draws an Extra Move Arts Card that Buffs her Strike Damage for another 15% for 15 timer counts.

Her base Strike Attack and Ki Recovery Speed stats are already quite high and since her Main Ability also reduces Strike and Blast Card cost, her second Unique Ability increases her Ki Recovery Speed, and her Extra Move increases draw speed, her Combos are long and deadly.

Weaknesses

Shaky Unique Ability

While an Anti-Lineage of Evil Ability is a useful ability, it becomes more and less viable as the Meta changes, as Lineage of Evil Teams only become relevant when countering Saiyans. In the current Meta, Lineage of Evil runs rampant, giving SP Great Saiyaman 2 additional utility as a counter unit. 

Limited Synergy

While she’s really good at what she does, SP Saiyaman 2 RED is still limited in what she can do. Color-Counter Teams frequently go in an out of fashion, and being a Fighter who can only really work as the off-color in a Purple Color-Counter Team means she is even more likely to be power crept with the release of newer Red Fighters.

Female Warrior as a potential fall back Team also doesn’t work very well since her Z-Ability only Buffs Female Warriors after 5 stars and there are very few Purple Female Warriors.

Team Synergy

Purple Color-Counter

This is the best Team option for SP Saiyaman 2 RED and creates the best opportunity for more balanced Team Buffs since being the off-color works to her strengths. This team's efficacy is hindered by the prevalence of YYB Color Counter, which counters both of the caped crusader's teammates. 

Sagas Warrior

This is more of a Purple Color-Counter variant, but SP Saiyaman 2 RED has a better chance of getting Team Support here because she’s also a Sagas Warrior.

This Tag has many strong Purple choices, so it wouldn’t be hard to put a balanced Team together.

Female Warrior

While it’s not ideal, this option isn’t completely inviable so long as there is at least one Purple Fighter in the core.

SP SSJ2 Caulifla PUR is also a Melee Fighter with held Strike Arts Cards, so they would work really well together.
